About Us

Canada is in an ever-increasing labour crisis. The domestic workforce is stretched too thin, and in an ‘employee’s market’, loyalty and hard work are hard to buy.

Economists and the government are in agreement that we need a steady supply of international labour in order for the national economy to continue thriving.

Nu-Options Recruiting Corporation was founded in direct response to this crisis. By providing a cost effective and simple way for companies to tap into the international labour market, we are helping to increase their productivity and decrease the costs associated with employee turnover.

The company was founded by Randy Ung and Brian McCullough who have combined their talents, expertise and resources in order to be able to offer a full service, international recruitment service.

Randy Ung

Nu-Options Principal and Founder, Randy Ung, is a long-time Canadian Citizen and a successful Calgary businessman. Randy is well known and highly respected in the Calgary business area, and particularly among the Calgary-Asian community.

Fluent in four languages, plus three dialects of Chinese, Randy retains close links with Asia, and a wide network of contacts, especially in China. For this reason Randy is ideally placed to build and maintain a network of reliable, diligent agents in Asia who hold responsibility for selecting and prescreening all candidates.

Randy is dedicated to bringing temporary foreign workers to Canada and working with his business team to successfully integrate each of them into the Alberta-Asian community. A well adjusted new worker leads to a win-win situation for the employer and employee. Randy’s passion and business acumen can make that happen.

Brian McCullough, B.A., B.Sc., LLB

Brian McCullough is legal counsel for Nu-Options Recruiting Inc. and a founding member of the law firm of Stewart & McCullough in Calgary, Alberta. For years, Brian’s successful law practice has been by referral only.

Brian brings over thirty years of business and legal experience to the table, including specific expertise in business, contractual and immigration law. He has appeared successfully before the Immigration Appeal Board of Canada.

Brian has always had a passion for helping his clients to take advantage of opportunities. His association with Nu-Options is one way in which he can provide opportunities for individuals wishing to work in Canada, while improving the productivity and viability of Canadian companies.

The Supporting Team

Nu-Options Recruiting Corporation has a full complement of office staff and mobile recruiters who work to exceed all the requirements and expectations of both employers and employees.

This staff includes :

  • Office staff, based in Calgary, Alberta
  • Recruiters and customer service staff who help our clients to identify and evaluate their requirements
  • Overseas agents who are responsible for interviewing, prescreening and selecting candidates, as well as preparing paperwork and applications
  • Settlement agents who find accommodation for the new workers and help them to obtain SIN and healthcare numbers, and integrate into their cultural communities

How We Work

We have a centrally located Calgary office from where we manage and streamline the process of matching temporary foreign workers with employers, as well as the social and cultural integration of the workers.

Our agents in Asia undertake the process of selection and pre-screening, as well as the submission of all necessary paperwork.

For your protection, we have a strict policy of absolute client confidentiality. Other than disclosure on a LMO (Labour Market Opinion) or work permit applications to the Government, a business client’s name is never divulged publicly unless the client previously consents in writing.

Ensuring a Successful Transition

The best part of the process for us is welcoming new workers to Canada.

We look after all the arrangements for housing, transportation, healthcare insurance, Social Insurance Number, cultural integration with the appropriate association and introduction to the new employer. We also offer expanded integration, ESL and cultural experiences to make a successful transition for the temporary foreign worker.

But it doesn’t stop there! We will follow-up with the new employee and employer to ensure that both sides are completely satisfied. If there are further ways we can help through ESL, cultural integration or other services, we will be happy to offer solutions.
