At Nu-Options, we are a full service agency, and we pride ourselves on providing the finest service to our clients and our foreign workers.
If you are planning to hire a foreign worker, one of our recruiters will first meet with you to analyze your requirements and provide recommendations. They will explain how we can help provide you with qualified, hard-working people to fill your job shortages.
When you are ready to proceed, the process will be as follows:
- We complete a contract and questionnaire with you.
- After ensuring that the appropriate steps have been taken to try and locate a suitable Canadian candidate, we will process a Labour Market Opinion (LMO) Application and submit it on your behalf. LMO’s take about 10-17 weeks to get approval from Human Resources Skills Development Canada (HRSDC).
- Meanwhile, we will process your job position details with our overseas agents to match your requirements with a foreign worker. This includes a full set of medical, criminal and background checks.
- After the candidate has been approved, we submit their application for a work permit to the Canadian Embassy, who also conduct their own background checks.
- During this time, we will find the foreign worker suitable accommodation and prepare orientation packages for them. If necessary, we will arrange for their enrolment in an English language school.
- Once all approvals have been received and the worker travels to Canada, we will pick them up from the airport and get them settled into the previously arranged residence. We will also get the new worker to the first day on the job with you.
- It takes approximately 5-6 months from the time we send the LMO application to HRSDC to the time you will have your worker.
- You, as an employer, are not sponsoring your temporary foreign worker, and you are in no way responsible for them while they are in Canada, except as an employee. You will treat your temporary foreign worker the same way you would treat any other Canadian new hire.
